Letters Written on Our Hearts

It is easy to praise the Lord when He quickly or unexpectedly answers prayers. It’s not so easy when you pray and pray and pray…month after month, year after year for something or someone dear to you and God does not answer in the way you wish.

It is in times like these, that we all need to be reminded that God is still actively present with us even when our feelings tell us otherwise. If we believe in Jesus and in His Word, we can ask Him to increase our faith and focus on the character of God rather than our doubts.

The reminders of God’s faithfulness are found in the Bible.

“Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are numbered. Do not fear, you are more valuable than many sparrows.”

                                                                                      Luke 12:6-7 NASB

Prayer:

Lord, help me today to trust You completely, even though my prayer has not been answered…yet. Thank you for reminding me that I am not forgotten. You know the number of hairs on my head, and you know the desires of my heart too. Increase my faith, Lord. Thank you that I am valuable in your sight, much more than I can imagine. I cast my cares on you as I draw close and allow you to comfort and care for me.
